FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE IN VISUAL FORM

Originally serving as a way for me to document my MFA, this blog lives on and serves as a   warehouse for figurative language in visual form. Metaphor, analogy, euphemism, bring them on.

Portrait

My four-year-old daughter's portrait of me.

Grace sits down to draw and she draws. She doesn't research, she doesn't plan, she doesn't look at anything for reference. I've enjoyed a nice ride these last weeks. Ideas and work has flowed quite well. Both last week and this week though, I've had some stumbles. Illness, changes in schedule took me out of the zone.

I think the work suffered. I am recreating the Doghouse illustration from sketch to final. I will attempt to complete a second as well--She's a fox.

I'm going to draw now.
